Officer Butch Tuxhorn

 

Glenn "Butch" Tuxhorn started his law enforcement career in 1977 and began working as a part-time police officer for Leland Grove in 1985.

He is responsible for the starting and implementing of our first Police Bicycle Patrol Program and our first Officer Field Training programs.

Officer Tuxhorn has extensive training and life experiences in law enforcement. He holds several certifications that also include Juvenile officer, field training officer, alcohol breath testing operations. He is also a consultant to the police training board and several local police agencies 

Butch is also a DUI enforcement officer & instructor. He has been recognized and is a award winning officer by the State of Illinois Department of Transportation, Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorist and Mothers Against Drunk Drivers for his efforts to remove drunk drivers from our roadways.

Butch is a member of the Order of St Michael and the Blue knights law enforcement motorcycle club. He has been a torch bearer and runner for the Special Olympics and participates with other Charity events in the area.
