All leaves MUST be placed in paper yard waste/leaf bags or plastic containers. Plastic containers may not exceed 30 gallons or 50 lb.

Limb and Branch Pick Up Policies

TREE LIMBS and BRANCH PICK-UPS BEGIN THE FIRST MONDAY OF THE MONTH WITH STARTING LOCATIONS ON AN ALTERNATING BASIS. 

 Below please review the City of Leland Grove's Tree Limb and Branch Pick up Policy. 

4-1E-7: TREE LIMB AND BRANCH PICK UP PROGRAM: linklink 


A. The city of Leland Grove shall provide for the pick up and removal of tree limbs and branches from residences in the city for property located within the city's geographic boundaries. The pick up will be conducted on the first Monday of every month and shall begin in the city ward as is determined on a rotating basis by need.

B. Tree limbs and branches which are eligible to be included in the city's pick up program must consist of branches and limbs less than two inches (2") in diameter and must be placed in a residential sized receptacle for garbage or trash. All bushes must have the root ball removed and be in pieces smaller than two feet (2') in diameter and six feet (6') in length. The owner of the subject property must perform all work on the property and no material may be moved from any other property into the city or from one property to another property within the city.

C. The volume of limbs and branches picked up at any one time shall be limited to one pile no more than six feet (6') long by six feet (6') wide by six feet (6') tall. Any item of less than one-half inch (1/2") in diameter must be placed in a yard waste bag, with the appropriate sticker and disposed of by a licensed waste hauler at the property owner's expense. The property owner may request that additional limbs and branches be removed for the requisite fee, as established from time to time by the city at the direction of the mayor, subject to the city's ability and availability to remove any additional limbs or branches.

D. The following items will not be eligible for the pick up program:

1. Leaves, grass clippings, weeds, and other yard waste.

2. Whole bushes, vines and hedge trimmings.

3. Compost material.

4. Roots.

5. Tree limbs larger than eight inches (8") in diameter.

6. Whole trees.

7. Any paper or plastic bag or other nonorganic matter.

E. The tree limbs and branches must be located on the city right of way directly in front of the subject property, but shall not be located on the pavement portion of any street or on any other city property. Any material shall not be placed in the right of way earlier than the Saturday prior to the scheduled pick up date. (Ord. 368, 2-22-2011)
