Officer Joe Dominguez

Officer Joe Dominguez was sworn into service for the Leland Grove Police Department in June 2018.

Officer Dominguez graduated from Campbell University in 2002 and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business & Organizational Leadership from Benedictine University in 2015. Officer Dominguez graduated from the Illinois State Police Academy in 2002.

After reaching the rank of Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, Officer Dominguez began his law enforcement career with the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office where he served as a Deputy Sheriff from 2002 to 2007. In 2007, he was selected and confirmed as the Sergeant at Arms for the Illinois State Senate where he continues to work in coordination with law enforcement to provide security for legislators, staff members, and visitors of the Senate.

During his military and law enforcement years of service, Officer Dominguez has completed numerous training courses focusing on a wide range of law enforcement topics and received certifications through the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office, the Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board, the Department of Homeland Security, and the University of Illinois Fire Service Institute, among others.

Officer Dominguez presently serves as the Sergeant at Arms for the Executive Board of the Illinois Police Officers Memorial Committee.  He is also a member of Sangamon County Law Enforcement Executives.
